About Linda

Linda Biemans (1958) is a sculptor who has worked in marble for many years. Since 2007, she has been teaching marble sculpture courses in her own studio in the Netherlands.

Marble holds a special place in her work because of its strength, clarity and technical possibilities. Working in marble requires concentration, patience and craftsmanship — qualities that are also central to her teaching.

Linda regularly works in Pietrasanta, Italy, a town where sculptors from all over the world come together. Over the years, she has built a valuable network of studios, suppliers and skilled craftspeople there. She guides her participants with ease in Dutch, English and German. She also speaks enough Italian to work comfortably with her Italian contacts.

For Linda, sculpting in Italy is not only a learning process, but also a special experience. Working in an Italian studio, surrounded by marble and skilled craftspeople, in a town where art is part of everyday life, adds depth to the process. The combination of focused work and the atmosphere of Pietrasanta makes the course a memorable experience for many participants.

Individual guidance is central to Linda’s courses. Each participant works at their own level. Beginners learn the full process from rough stone to sculpture. More experienced participants deepen their technique and refine their way of working.

For Linda, sculpture is a process of attention and clarity. Starting from a model, each participant works step by step towards a personal and well-considered sculpture.
